Privacy Policy

Your WC Tech Guy is a one-person technology help service in West Chester, Pennsylvania. This page explains, in plain language, what information this website collects, why it is collected, and what you can ask me to do with it. There is no fine print here and nothing is sold to anyone.

What I collect

When you fill out the contact form: your name, phone number, message, and your email address if you choose to provide one. Your email address is optional; the form works without it.

Automatically, when the form is submitted: your network address (IP address) is checked briefly to stop automated spam submissions. It is not stored alongside your message.

While you browse: Google Analytics records anonymous, aggregated visit information — which pages were viewed, roughly what region the visit came from, and what type of device was used. This tells me which pages are actually useful. It does not tell me who you are.

Why I collect it

To read your message and get back to you about the help you asked for.
To send you an automatic confirmation that your message arrived.
To keep a record of past conversations so I can help you again later.
To block spam and abusive submissions.
To understand which pages on this site people find helpful.

What I never do

I never sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone.
I never add you to a marketing list without you asking me to.
I never share your message with anyone other than the services listed below.
I never ask for passwords, bank details, or Social Security numbers through this site.

Who else sees the information

Only the technology providers required to run this website and deliver its email:

The website hosting and database service that stores your submitted message.
The email delivery service that sends me your message and sends you the confirmation.
Google Analytics, for the anonymous visit statistics described above.
hCaptcha, the spam-prevention check on the contact form.

Each of these providers is used only to run the site. Information may also be disclosed if the law requires it.

How long it is kept

Contact form submissions are kept for up to 24 months so that I have a record of our past conversations, and are then deleted automatically. You can ask me to delete yours sooner at any time.

Your choices

You can email me at chescotechhelp@gmail.com and ask me to:

Tell you what information I have about you.
Correct anything that is wrong.
Delete your information entirely.

I will take care of it, at no cost, and normally within a few days. You can also turn off analytics cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on, and this site will continue to work normally.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and submissions are stored in a database that is not readable by the public. No system is perfect, but your message is treated as a private conversation.

Children

This site is intended for adults. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, email me and I will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
